My 5310 has an electrical inverter that has developed a problem when putting the reverse gear.
When moving into reverse there is a “squishy” feel rather than a solid sound, and most of the time you will skip out of gear unless you keep the lever down.
I have noticed that there is a fitting at the lower end of the cable where the lever cable connects to the gearbox.
Does anyone know if this will solve the problem if I lengthen the cable, if so how far should I adjust it?
I have identified the problem, it is a stuck cable.
I have removed the cable and am spraying WD40 into the small gap between the cable core and the casing, hoping that whatever is causing the jam will dissolve.
I’ll let you know when it’s done.
