A perfect tractor. I traded it in for a 2010 John Deere. I really love this tractor as everyone knows John Deere makes a good hitch system. Much easier than my Massey Ferguson.
We bought a retirement home that clearly required a tractor. This unit has done pretty much everything I’ve asked of it. We use it very intensively in the first 2 years. He made things heavy and a DR Field and Brush mower made things lighter. Since then, we’ve only used it to mow 18-20 acres twice a year; We recently sold the harrow, plow, strap cutter, etc., because we no longer need or use them. I am currently having a bush problem that is not caused by the tractor.
The only bad thing about the tractor is that the injection pump failed right after the warranty expired. Even a rebuilt pump was expensive, but it has worked well ever since. Why choose a John Deere? It came from the only nearby tractor dealer.
I haven’t had any major problems with the JD 5310, unless you count the problems I had from a lazy dealer. The tires rusted because the dealer didn’t bother to install inner tubes to contain the calcium. I just paid $ 3,000 to install new tires, beet juice, and inner tubes. It is used for utility work, mowing, brush clearing, fertilizing, spraying, planting food plots, disking, moving loose materials, and pulling a no-tillage drill.
